After

Before

The original wood deck had deteriorated over time, showing clear signs of wear and damage that compromised both its appearance and structural performance. The ABD team’s goal was to remove the old deck entirely and rebuild with a system that could withstand Elk Grove’s hot, dry summers, seasonal temperature changes, and wet winter conditions, while enhancing the backyard’s overall appeal.

Our crew removed the deteriorated timber, completed all necessary prep work, and installed a brand-new Trex composite deck in the Honey Grove color. The result is a revitalized outdoor space built for durability, easy upkeep, and long-term enjoyment.

CHALLENGES

This project’s primary challenge was to restore an aging wood deck that had deteriorated after years of exposure to the elements.

The existing structure showed clear signs of decay and needed full removal before any rebuild could begin. Before installing the new decking, the old materials had to be carefully removed, the underlying structure thoroughly prepared, and a stable foundation provided for the update.

Selecting the right decking material and fittings has proven just as important. The team chose Trex composite because of its resistance to rot, splintering, and weather-related damage – a material built to hold up with minimal upkeep for years to come.

OUR SOLUTION

Our professionals have handled the project with genuine care and a focus on delivering a durable, low-maintenance outdoor living space, driven by the ambition to yield lasting performance and enhance the property’s appeal.

What began with the careful removal of the deteriorated wood deck was followed by the work required to create a stable foundation for the new installation. Every procedure has been completed with close attention to structural integrity, alignment, and long-term reliability.

We installed Trex composite decking in the warm and light shade of golden-brown with subtle amber and gray tones and dark streaks. Chosen for its exceptional durability and resistance to rot, splintering, and weather-related damage, the material provides an attractive, undemanding finish.

The completed deck epitomizes a beautiful outdoor space that combines lasting performance, everyday functionality, and classic curb appeal.

PROCESS

ABD’s priority was removing the old wood deck and restoring the underlying structure to create a solid foundation for the rebuild. Building on that, we have created a solid foundation for the new installation.

We carefully dismantled the existing decking and completed the necessary preparation work to ensure the surface was ready for further restoration. This stage has emerged as essential for achieving a precise fit, long-term stability, and reliable performance.

Next came installation of the new Trex composite decking in the Honey Grove color, paying close attention to board alignment, spacing, and fastening to create a clean, seamless, and coherent finish.

The project closed with a full quality inspection to confirm structural integrity, appearance, and craftsmanship – leaving the homeowners with a low-maintenance deck built to resist rot, splintering, and everyday wear.
